Loving Husband, Dad, and Grandpa
Tom G. Kriske, passed away peacefully on April 5th, 2026, surrounded by his daughters, in the comfort of their presence. The day was filled with his favorite music and at night his favorite show, Friends, played in the background.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia; his daughters Elise (Amy) Briones and Kelsey (Cody) Tillotson; his son Kimmy (Niki) Guckian; his grandchildren Levi and Hailey Tillotson and Erynn LaRae Lopez; and his nephew Steven Stubblefield. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Margaret “June” Kriske and Herbert Kriske, as well as his cherished mother- in- law Marilyn G. Garcia.
Tom was the kind of person who never met a stranger. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and seen, like an old friend. He had a deep love for classic rock, a passion he shared enthusiastically with his children, especially bands like Fleetwood Mac, Scorpions, Metallica and Queensryche.
Tom married the love of his life, Lydia Lucio, on June 20, 1982. They always told their daughters they met in church in San Antonio, Texas (though later it was revealed it was actually a bar). Together, they built a life grounded in love and sacrifice, showing their daughters what true partnership looks like. They spent years attending softball tournaments and cheer competitions, and along the way, opened their home to anyone who needed a little extra support. This included one permanent addition, their adopted son, Kimmy, whom Tom loved unconditionally as his own until his very last day.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army and went on to spend over 35 years as a dedicated driver with UPS, a career he truly loved. Known by his call sign “Bones,” Tom built lasting friendships with his coworkers, many of whom became like family.
Above all, Tom was a devoted husband, a loving dad, a proud grandpa, and a very enthusiastic “dog grandpa.” His family was his greatest joy, and he took pride in being present for the people he loved.
He leaves behind a legacy rooted in love and woven with music. He will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the way he made the world feel a little more connected with one friendship at a time.
He is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
