Truman Edward Hudson went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2018. He was born on September 21, 1932, to Roy and Ruth Hudson in Levelland, Texas. He was the grandson of Edward Augustus Hudson, who settled on the Colorado River and for whom Hudson Bend on Lake Travis is named.
He lived most of his life in Austin, Texas, and graduated from Austin High in 1950. He then served in the Naval Seabees division stationed in the Philippines, and later served on the Admiral’s staff at Pearl Harbor. He returned to Austin, attended the University of Texas, and settled in Westlake Hills. He worked with his father to build many of the first homes in Westlake. He was the first president of the Westlake Hills Optimists and loved sports and outdoors, especially hunting and baseball. He later helped build the first Westlake fire station and the first athletic press box for the Westlake football stadium.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Rosalyn Sharp Hudson, his sister Velma Kelley, and brother Delbert Hudson. He is survived by his wife Karen McAngus Hudson, his daughter Chris Ann Coleman and her husband Darrell, his son Thomas Edward Hudson and his wife Leslie, as well as his stepchildren Kay Lynn Worthy, Kyle Wimberley, Sara Stewart, and their spouses and children; he is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a large extended family of loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018 with public viewing and visitation at 2:30, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
