Vera Ferne Brott (mostly known as “Connie”), went to be with her Lord on February 11, 2020, at the age of 91. She was the daughter of John Willis Brott and Alice Mae Brott. She was born in Mitchell, Nebraska on October 11th of 1928. Her siblings were Bonnie Pierce, Betty O’Brian, Violet Neary and brother Duane “Buck” Brott. All preceded her in death. She was married to our father, Clyde Johnson, the love of her life for 68 years who went to be with Jesus on November 7, 2013.
She retired in 1987 from the family business. She loved God and family with her whole heart. Grandchildren were her biggest blessing. Nothing gave her more joy.
She loved painting pictures especially of animals and ranch scenes. She always said, all she ever wanted to do was be a wife and mother and she excelled in both. Her children were Danny Johnson (wife Sandra), Bobbie Zwerneman (husband Fred), Dale Johnson (wife Orelia), and Tommy Johnson (wife Sharon). She was the grandmother of 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. This woman had a godly influence on anyone she met and her presence will be missed more than words can say by anyone who knew her. We love her so much and were really blessed to have had her as our mother.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. A memorial service will be held for her at Hill Country Fellowship Church, 200 Houston-Clinton Drive Burnet, Texas 78611, on Monday, March 2, 2020 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
