

Walter William Johnson Jr., 88, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, September 13, 2012 . Walter was born in Austin, Texas on July 29, 1924 to the late Walter William Johnson Sr. and Corine Caffey Johnson.
Walter graduated from Austin High School in 1943. He resided in Austin his entire life, except during his military service in World War II where he served in France, Belgium and Luxembourg in the Infantry and later as a military policeman. He married, on November 18, 1947, the love of his life, Imogene White, at the Grace Church of the Nazarene where they remained active members.
Walter spent his career as a custom home builder. Leaving a legacy of quality homes throughout the Austin area, Walter passed on to his son a career and passion for home building.
Walter was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the great outdoors. His warm heart and gentle spirit touched all. He will be remembered for his sweet nature and funny antics. Always quick with a smile, Walter was well-respected as he always respected others.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents; brother Harry Johnson; and sister Doris Whitman. Walter is survived by his wife, Imogene, of almost 65 years; his two daughters, Patricia Johnson and Darlene Johnson; his son Jerry Johnson; four grandchildren Chanelle Johnson, Lacey Johnson, Shala Johnson, Garret Johnson and his wife Aimee Johnson; sisters, Roma Carper and her husband Dan Carper and Norma Pavlu; brother-in-laws Erwin Davis and Ralph Whitman; sister-in-laws Mozelle White and Judy White; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service and celebration of Walter’s life will be held on Monday September 17 at Cook -Walden/ Capital Parks Funeral Homes, Visitation at noon and services at 1:00 p.m. 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas. Burial at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
