Wayne Earl Moore, 87 of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021. He was born on October 5, 1934 and raised in Austin, Texas. Earl graduated from Austin High School in 1952. He joined the Navy after high school and spent time in California and Japan. On leave in 1955 he married his high school sweetheart, Treva Ann Kinsey. They were married for 66 ½ years at the time of his passing. After serving with the Navy he returned to Austin where he worked as a Lithographer for The Steck Company and later for the University of Texas Print Division retiring in 1996.
Earl and Treva had 2 daughters and they were very active in their lives growing up. Coaching girls’ softball teams at the local Optimist Club during the late 60’s and into the mid 70’s, Earl nurtured lifelong relationships with numerous girls and their families. Terry and Paula both participated in the Vikette drill team at Lanier High School where Earl supported their efforts and grew to know so many of their friends.
After moving to Georgetown in 1996 Earl (known to many as Wayne) became an active part of their neighborhood. Golf, barbequing brisket, taking care of their large garden, deer hunting, caring for their house and the 2 acres it sits on kept him very active throughout his whole life. He loved to build a huge fire in their fireplace and chopped wood for that purpose right up until the very end. His golf hobby lead to gathering golf balls in the rough and he would clean them up and began creating Golf Dogs. He offered them to many of his favorite people and you will find them sitting in many places especially around Georgetown.
Earl is survived by his wife Treva, 2 daughters, Terry Hoffman and Paula McLaughlin, sons-in-law Byron Hoffman and Kevin McLaughlin, 6 grandchildren: Evan Hoffman, Hillary Clark (husband, Seth), Hayley Mitchell (husband, Daniel), Cali Hoffman, Abby McLaughlin, Will McLaughlin; 4 great-grandchildren and his sister, Elsie Witt.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bailey and Lucille Moore and his sister, Bobbie Moore.
Services will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. with funeral and burial to follow.
The family would like to thank Hospice Austin, nurse Brandy Taylor and Visiting Angels caregivers, especially Miranda; Texas Oncology Georgetown, Dr. Courtney Yau and staff. So much love and care were provided to Wayne by so many and for that we are extremely grateful.
