William "Bill" Anthony Flynn, III, was born to Bill Flynn and Maria Cecily Bresnan Flynn on July 3, 1968, in Aurora, Colorado. The first few years of his life, his family moved to a few different locations including Omaha, Nebraska, and Lubbock, Texas, since his father was a member of the United States Air Force. By 1972, his family had settled in Arlington, Texas, where he spent his elementary and high school years. He attended Saint Maria Goretti, Goodman Elementary, and graduated from Nolan High School.
Bill touched the lives of a countless number of people. He had a warming heart of gold, indescribable compassion for others, a loving reach and touch, zest for life, and beyond all else, he valued the bond and relationships with family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, students, and just about anybody.
Ultimately he received a bachelors of science in mathematics from Southwest Texas State University and a masters of education from Tarleton State University along with a principal certification. Bill taught high school mathematics in the Mansfield Independent School District and eventually moved to Austin where he served as a Math Instructional Specialist at Lanier High School in 2009. From there he moved on to become an assistant principal at Manor Middle School and eventually ended back at Lanier High School in the Austin Independent School District as an Assistant Principal.
Bill enjoyed playing golf and watching football, always rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns. He was also an avid baseball fan and made it a point not to miss opening day for the Texas Rangers as much as possible. He also enjoyed watching movies, reading, and cooking.
After moving to Austin, Bill met his future wife, Robin Ann Donaldson. The two of them were married in June of 2012. Bill truly embraced his Irish heritage and Texas upbringing, so much so, that their wedding was planned around a family tartan and all things Texas: It was truly an Irish-Texas wedding. Since then, Bill and his wife Robin, have been settled in Wells Branch raising their two four-legged boys, Willie and Travis.
Bill was preceded in death by mother Maria Cecily Bresnan Flynn of Arlington, Texas; brother-in-law Kyle Allen Donaldson of Austin, and father-in-law Bobby Eugene Donaldson of Georgetown. He is survived by his wife, Robin Ann Donaldson Flynn of Austin; parents Bill and Jill Flynn of Burnet; brother and sister-in-law James and Janice Flynn of San Antonio; sister Ellen Flynn of Austin; sister and brother-in-law Amy and Ted Marchut of San Marcos; Grandmother Barbara Rogers of Burnet; Aunt and Uncle Jan Rogers and Mercury Powlus of Maumelle, Arkansas; Mother-in-Law Betty Ann Barrett Donaldson of Austin; Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law Christopher and Heather Donaldson of Sanger; Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law Darren and Kay Donaldson of Brenham; Niece and Nephew Grace and Sean Flynn of San Antonio; Nieces and Nephew, Maddie, Avery, and Brett Donaldson of Sanger; Niece and Nephews, Malicia, Patrick, and Philip Donaldson of Brenham; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends, co-workers, neighbors, and students.
Bill will forever be missed by the countless lives of those he touched even in the slightest way. His laugh, smile, blue eyes, loving personality, and all that was him will be sorely missed but also remembered for all of the wonderful memories he gave us.
