

W. D. “Pappy” Stewart, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and dear friend to many; went home to be with his Heavenly Father on July 12, 2012. He reunited with Ruby Stewart, his beloved wife of 57 years.
He spent his life loving and serving others. He always stood firm in the Word of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you ever needed to know what it meant to live a Christian life, you only needed to look at his.
Pappy is survived by his three sons and their wives: Raymond and Bernice Stewart of Hutto, Cecil and Karen Stewart of Wimberley, and Wilton and Nancy Stewart of Pflugerville, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; who will love and miss him always.
After graduating from Bertram High School, Pappy joined the Army Air Corp in 1943; after discharging in 1946 he went to work for what is now AT&T as a PBX installer. He took early retirement in 1984. He and Ruby enjoyed doing a little traveling with friends.
Pappy was a long standing deacon and member of the First Baptist Church in Pflugerville.
Pallbearers will be Coy Hearin, John Hankins, Roger Hankins, Al Lovelady, David Stewart, DeWayne Stewart and Ronnie Stewart; Honorary Pallbearers the Deacons of First Baptist Church.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Pflugerville. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donating the First Baptist Church Pflugerville Building Fund.
