Yvonne began life in Nancy, France in 1925. She was a straight A student and loving daughter to her parents René and Henriette Breton. She remembered both the terrible times of WWII and the joy in liberation and always spoke of how much she appreciated the Americans helping her country. While working in Nancy for the U.S. Army during the Korean War, she met a handsome American soldier with a wry smile from Zephyr, Texas. Yvonne and Ted were very different on the surface, but both shared a passion for life and loved each other every day after they first laid eyes on each other. They moved to the States in 1956 and raised a family.
Yvonne worked many jobs as hostess and cashier in her life, often double shifts to help the family get by. She was also as an accountant for Decoty Coffee company, from which she retired from employment. Yvonne loved doing things the right way and was an incredible cook and pastry maker. The Coles had many dinner parties for their friends on the long dining room table with the fancy, very-French table settings. Many great memories were had at the house on Quiette Drive in Austin. Ted and Yvonne were always helping friends in need and would often donate clothing or appliances to those who needed it. Yvonne helped several women later in their lives feel joy and gave them companionship. Yvonne was a very giving, loving, person. Nous vous aimons et vous souhaitons le meilleur des voyages à venir.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, René André Breton and Henriette Breton; brothers, Pierre and René Breton; her husband, Ted Cole, and her daughter, Monique Sontagg. She is survived by her sister, Jeannine Deschênes; sons, Ted Cole and Tim Cole; daughter-in-law, Michele Cole; son-in-law, Tass Sontagg; grandchildren, Christi Osorio, Erich Sontagg, Kurt Sontagg, Jaret and Tanner Cole and great-grandchildren, Erich Sontagg Jr., and Bryan and Brendan Osorio.
The memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m., July 15, 2018 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas.
