

Albert Marquez, age 74 of Tempe, Arizona passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Monday, May 27, 2013 in his home. The son of Rosario Acosta and Antonio Marquez, he was born in Colorado City, Texas and later moved to El Paso where he graduated from Bowie High School and the University of Texas at El Paso. He is survived by his beloved wife Susana and his seven children Dolores Nolan, Margarita Chong and husband David, Martha Marquez, Michael Marquez and wife Leticia, Arthur Marquez and wife Chong-He, Leonor Cantu and husband Frank, Patricia Ellis and husband Charles, and 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and two sisters Ana Maria and Angelina, also numerous nieces and nephews. He worked as an electrical engineer for 23 years for Salt River Project. After his retirement he worked as an international consultant in Europe and Latin America. His lifelong commitment to helping others was exemplified in his volunteer works at Alzheimer’s Association and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Albert is deeply loved and will be missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Visitation will be held 5pm – 8pm, Friday May 31, 2013 with a Rosary beginning at 6pm at Carr-Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ 85282. Funeral Mass will be held 9:30am, Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 2121 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ 85282.
