Al was born Feb. 1, 1939 to Albert and Alwilda Thomas in Pasadena, CA. Al’s younger years were spent in Minneapolis, MN where he excelled at academics and sports at Breck High School. Al started in retail with Sears; first in Minneapolis and growing in his positions, which took him to Aberdeen, S.D., Fort Dodge, DA., and into Des Moines.
After many years in retail Al decided to move to Phoenix and semi-retire. He enjoyed working and driving for Executive Limousine Service over the years.
Al enjoyed golfing and playing cards, whether it be bridge or poker. He always seemed to have a deck of cards nearby. Al is survived by his children: Cindy (Geoff) Gade, Pamela (Jon) Klaus, and Bruce (Lisa) Thomas; and four grandchildren: Kyle, Sarah, Eric, and Brian.
