

Alfred George Aldridge Jr., husband, father, grandfather, military officer and community leader, passed away peacefully on October 23rd, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by his family. He was born in Topeka, Kansas in 1937 to Alfred and Ruth Aldridge.
Al was a graduate of Kansas State University where he was active with the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He had an esteemed career in the food service industry, eventually retiring from Shamrock Foods Company. He was a proud veteran and enlisted in the U.S. Army prior to receiving a commission in the U.S. Airforce. After active duty, Al continued his military service with the California Air National Guard where he rose to the rank of Colonel and was retired as an honorary Brigadier General. His commitment to his country was matched only by his dedication to the community. He served as a yellow jacket on the Fiesta Bowl Committee for many years. Al was also a commander with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Posse, also managing the Youth Assistance Foundation for the Sheriff, where they raised money to support and uplift the youth in his community.
Al is survived by his wife of 64 years, three children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Al will be honored with a military funeral at the National Memorial Cemetery 2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024 on November 29th at 10:00 am.
