Alice Gertrude Scott, 89, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, was born August 6th, 1926. She was a sibling to 3 brothers and a sister. Alice passed August 2nd, 2016 just four days before her 90th birthday in the care of Hospice of the Valley at the Gardiner home; specializing in Dementia/Alzheimer's patients. She entered heaven's gates with a warm smile as she took her last breath next to her daughter, Sandy. Alice leaves behind her only child Sandra Jean McLeod, her granddaughters Kelly Garza and Julie McGrath, and her great grandkids Kelsey Garza and Brandon Garza. To her two brothers, the memories kept her safe and motivated her to hold on to life a little tighter each day. Her best friends at heart Tommy Morgan and Bobby Morgan. Alice was married 56 years to her first love Howard Scott before his passing in 2004. She spent many years running down the sandy shores of California setting records along the way. Alice ran with a warm heart building strength to the grandmother she was. She later lived in the chilly hills of Illinois with her brother and niece Terri Griffith, She enjoyed watching her great niece and nephew finish high school and start their journeys through life. Alice settled in Phoenix, Arizona with all four grandkids and daughter as she spent her last 7 years of life. She spent her final years watching her great grandson graduate as she loved her sweet Brandon to the core and enjoyed singing the United States Navy song with Kelsey, spending every evening laughing side by side. Alice would like to be remembered as the runner, the runner who never stopped at making the world a little brighter each day. As you will be laid to rest next to grandpa, we love you Alice Gertrude Scott.
