

Sister Amelia D. Washington was born April 21, 1958 to the late R D Dunbar and Josephine Dunbar on Webb Airforce Base in Big Springs, Texas. She attended Elementary school in both Texas, California and Florida. She graduated from Crestview High school in June 1976. Sister Washington accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Grace Temple Baptist Church in Lompoc, California. Amelia moved to Arizona in 1978. She met James E. Washington in 1980, they later married on February 28, 1980. She joined New Revelation MBC in 1979, and remained a faithful members and Pastor’s wife until her death. She served in several capacities in her Church, the Mount Zion district association and GMBSCA State Convention; some of which include: Pastor’s Wife, Senior Mission bible teacher, Music Coordinator and Choir Member, Youth & Children’s Director, Mt. Zion District Sunday School BTU Congress Treasurer as well as State Minister Wives and Widows Treasurer. Amelia was preceeded in death by her Father RD Dunbar, Grandmother’s Gertrude Cox and Roberta Nealy, Uncle U.L. Hardeman and lifelong child hood friend Regina Stallworth. Amelia leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and dedicated husband of 35 years Pastor James E. Washington, son James E. Washington (Muzette) of Phoenix, AZ; daughters Charee’ E. Washington, Jaymessa E. Washington and Tausha R. Harris all of Phoenix, AZ; mother Josephine Dunbar; brother Elkanah Mongotmery of Washington State; sisters Jacquelyn Mongotmery and Valerie Cunningham both of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren; six nephews; seven nieces; numerous great nephews and nieces; Road Buddy Eula Hardeman of Phoenix, AZ and Lifelong friend Brenda Gates of Crestview, Florida; and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
