Aspy went to Eastside High School in Newark, NJ. He met his spouse Ernestine Gooden when he was 21 and she was 18. They did not marry until January 4, 1988 when God put them together a second time. The have been married for 34 years.
Aspy worked 39 years for the International Longshormen's Association in Jersey City, NJ port. He retired in 2005 to Arizona with his wife Ernestine. Aspy was a workaholic. He could not stand being at home not working so he worked an additional 8 years as a security guard.
Back in the day he was the best and sharpest dresser. He wore things before they were ever trendy and always looked so handsome in everything. For the last twelve years or so he was very casual but still looked so handsome.
He was his own man and was always a giver, never a taker. He was a very private person and so is Ernestine.
He had many major illnesses that he fought and got through by the Grace of God, love, family, and friends. His last 4 years he had Dementia. He tried, he was tough and a fighter in every sense of the word. The last year, 2021, was the toughest. He fought a good fight until the end with his wife Ernestine and family never leaving his side through all of his illnesses. May Aspy rest in peace with our heavenly father.
