April 2, 1936 – August 5, 2025
Barbara Lee Miller, 89, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025. She was born on April 2, 1936, in Winfield, Kansas, to the late Ruby Agatha Williams, and Raymond Wallace Thompson. She grew up with a strong sense of family, a love for the simple joys in life, and a creative spirit that would shape her entire journey.
On August 10, 1963, Barbara married her beloved husband, Edgar Brooks Miller. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, companionship, and devotion. They shared countless cherished moments until Edgar’s passing in December of 2005.
Barbara’s hands were rarely still—whether she was crocheting intricate patterns, painting with vibrant colors, or losing herself in the pages of a good book, she found joy in creating and learning. She was an avid reader whose curiosity and imagination never faded with time. Her home was always warm, not only from her art and handiwork but from the love she poured into every aspect of her life.
She is survived by her loving stepdaughter, Phyllis Jane Miller, and her dear sisters, Virginia Rae Chambers and Martha Joan Rowley. She also leaves behind extended family and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Barbara will be remembered not only for her artistry and gentle nature but for the way she made people feel—valued, welcomed, and loved. Her legacy will live on in the warmth of her family’s hearts and in the countless creations she leaves behind.
In honor of Barbara’s life, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, whose compassionate care brought peace and comfort to her final days. Please follow this link to donate https://hov.org/donate/
