

Went to join her husband and her Lord and Savior on December 1, 2010. She died peacefully at home surrounded by the family who cherished her. Born in Phoenix on March 26, 1922, she was a lifelong resident of the Valley. As an outward testimony of her faith, Beth dedicated her life to the teaching and nurturing of others, especially children. A graduate of Arizona State Teachers College (ASU), she taught at various schools in the Phoenix area, including Phoenix Crippled Children’s Home and First Baptist Children’s Center, where for 26 years, she taught the four-year-old class. She also served on the Board of Isaac School District, succeeding her mother, Alta E. Butler. Preceded in death five months ago by Dick, her husband of 68 years. Beth is survived by her daughter Shelley St. George (Phill), her son John (Michael Jacobs), grandsons Philip and Dustin St. George, granddaughter Christina St. George, eleven great-granchildren, and brothers K.O. and D.H. Butler. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 18 at 12:30 P.M. at Living Streams Church, 7000 N. Central Ave. (corner of Glendale Ave.).
