He grew up in Miami, Florida where he graduated from Miami Senior High School.
After graduating from high school in 1958 he joined the Marine Corps where he proudly served his country, all over the world, for over 30 years. He received many honors and awards while serving. He completed 3 tours of duty during the Vietnamese War.
Retiring from the Marine Corps as a Chief Warrant Officer, he settled down with his family in Florida.
Calvin loved cruising, traveling, old and new coins and of course, the Golden Corral.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank L. and Mary A. Guntherberg, Miami, Florida, and his sister, Sally A. Stokes, Macon, Georgia.
He leaves behind two daughters, Joelle Carastro and Erika Russell, in Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Joan G. Knighten, Macon Georgia; four grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.
He was a Godly man who loved his family.
He will be missed greatly by those of us who were blessed to have him in our lives. He was one of the “few good men." Gone from sight. Not from heart ❤️!!
