Carol J Reimers, 91, a resident of Nipomo, CA, passed away on July 18, 2016. She grew up in Chicago and lived in the area most of her life. Carol was married to Frank H. Reimers and when he retired, they moved to Phoenix. She ended up in a more temperate climate on the central coast of California where she lived with her son and daughter-in-law.
Carol had a great sense of humor and loved life. When going somewhere, she liked to take different routes to see new sights. Carol enjoyed meeting people. She would go out to different restaurants, or strike up a conversation with the grocery checkout clerk; best were the neighborhood BBQs. She was outgoing and kind. Everyone that knew her received great pleasure from their exchanges, whether it was family events or neighborhood gatherings. She loved to have fun, which might include an occasional visit to the casino, bingo hall, or an evening glass of wine, just enjoying the people around her. However, one would quickly learn not to interfere with her watching ‘Dancing With the Stars’. When not watching that show, or visiting with others, Carol liked to spend time reading.
With Carol’s passing we lost a special person. She was a good mother and grandma. While the minds of her loved ones are saddened by her passing, their hearts will remember her forever. Her family is comforted in the knowledge that she went home to heaven and is together again with her husband, Frank. Both are at peace. In addition to her husband, Carol is preceded in death by her Parents, Ed & Vera Ihms, and her brother Robert Ihms.
She is survived by her Children, Donna (& Gary) Lortz and Gregg (& Linda) Reimers; Grandchildren, Sandy (& Jeff) Chaput, Chris (& Kathleen) Reimers, and Ashley (& Ben) Brandt; and Great Grandchildren, Kassandra, Veronica, Samantha, Gabrielle, and Kaylee.
She will be laid to rest with her husband, Tuesday, Oct 4, 2016; 10:00-10:30 AM; at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. www.cem.va.gov/CEMs/nchp/nmca.asp The entrance to the cemetery is on Pinnacle Peak Road, just East of Cave Creek Road.
