Carolyn S. Bondhus

On the afternoon of May 24, 2013, Carolyn Sue Bondhus took one last breath and said her final goodbye to her loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born March 28, 1950 in Rock Falls, IL to James and Frances Frey, she had only begun to shine her witty and heart-warming personality on the world. After graduating high school, she attended Rush Presbyterian Hospital School of Radiation Technology in Chicago, IL. Her first steps on campus would be the first steps toward finding the love of her life, Stephen Lee Bondhus. The two were wed on December 19, 1970, marking the first year of a beautiful forty-two year marriage. Stephen and Sue spent much of their time traveling, spreading her zest for life across the globe. Her compassionate and loving nature sparkled in her unwavering smile. Her father James Robert Frey precedes Sue in death. She is survived by her husband Stephen, her sons Jeffrey, Peder (Melissa), grandsons Jackson and Jacob, her mother Frances Frey, brothers David (Glenda), Bill (Marie), Joseph (Barbara), John (Linda), and James (Robin), her sister Hope (Fred), numerous nieces and nephews, and devoted friends.
