With profound love and heartfelt sorrow, we honor the life of Catherine Jean Miller-Wash, affectionately known as Cathie, whose warmth, kindness, strength, humor, and loving spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Cathie was born on October 8, 1943, in Greeley, Colorado, to her devoted parents, Ivan and Della Miller. Throughout her life, she carried a generous heart, a caring nature, and a remarkable gift for making others feel valued and deeply loved.
Her greatest joy came from bringing people together, often through her love of cooking. Cathie’s kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and cherished memories, where family and friends gathered to enjoy her meals and feel the love she poured into every dish. She also had a deep love for music and singing; her joyful voice often filled her home, lifting the spirits of all who were near. Her quick wit and playful sense of humor brought smiles to everyone she met, turning ordinary moments into lasting memories.
Cathie was also a remarkable businesswoman. She served as president of Miller Brothers Trucking Inc., her family’s business based in Denver, Colorado. Her intelligence, vision, and leadership helped guide the company to success, leaving a lasting legacy through her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication.
Cathie’s heart was full of love, especially for her devoted husband of 42 years, John L. Wash. Together, they shared a lifetime of joy, partnership, and unwavering devotion. On Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the age of 82, Cathie went home to be with the Lord, reunited with John by His loving side.
She is survived by her sister, Janna Dyer; her daughters, Margaret Anne Crites and Mary Kay Marston; her son, Christopher John Miller; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was also a beloved aunt and great-aunt, whose love and presence will be dearly missed.
Beyond her family, Cathie will be remembered for her compassion, wisdom, humor, and the way she gave so freely of herself. Her presence brought comfort, joy, and laughter to many, and her legacy of love, music, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you." — John 14:1–3
Cathie Jean Miller-Wash will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
