They began their life together in Dumas, Arkansas then moved to California, finally settling their home in Phoenix in 1959. They celebrated sixty-two wonderful years together until they had to say goodbye on January 31, 2014 when Dorothy lost her battle with Alzheimer’s.

Cecil worked the Alcoholics Anonymous program and celebrated his 49th birthday on November 24, 2015. Throughout his years of working his sobriety, he was an avid member of AA. He was always willing to share his experience, strength and hope in order to help anyone who was having the same struggles as he had. He was an inspiration to all and has touched the lives of many. Over the years he created bonds so strong with many members that he considered them all a part of his extended family.
Together with Mom, Pop was the foundation, the heart and rock of this family. The well being of his family was always his priority in life. He had the strength to overcome all obstacles that he ever faced.
After retirement, Pop and Mom enjoyed seeing the country, crisscrossing the nation several times in their 5th wheel and always continued to try and have as many adventures as they could. Long ago they started a tradition with their family and friends of camping at the lake every Easter holiday. Pop was there with family and friends this Easter as the tradition continued.
For thirteen years as Mom battled her Alzheimer’s Pop was always right by her side, loving and caring for her. The love he gave helped her to survive much longer than any of the experts had predicted. After missing his love for 2 years, he is now reunited with his soul-mate in heaven.
