

Charles Thomas Ledbetter, son of Percy B. Ledbetter and Olive M. Buxton Ledbetter, passed away on December 15th, 2018. His wife, Jean Agnes Ledbetter passed away on November 27th, 2018. Charles was born on February 20, 1932 in Decatur, IL. Charles joined the U. S. Marine Corp shortly after beginning studies at Pasadena Nazarene College, Pasadena, CA. He went to “boot camp” in San Diego, and he learned to drive Amphibious Trucks while stationed in Camp LeJeune in North Carolina. He fought in the Korean War during 1953. He is survived by his four sons David Charles Ledbetter (Myda) living in NM, James Thomas Ledbetter (Phx.), Joseph Byron Ledbetter(Utah), Thomas Andrew (Ledbetter) Frutos (Melissa) living in Ann Arbor, MI, and three daughters Regina Gay Ledbetter Hinz (Steven Hinz) NM, Susan Lee Ledbetter Easter (John Easter) Idaho, Genie Carolyn Ledbetter Keblis (Gregory Keblis) Utah. A daughter, Carla Denise Ledbetter Forsman, passed away in Phoenix in 2007.
His 17 surviving grandchildren are: Melody Faith Ledbetter, Gracie Eileen Hinz, Steven Thomas Hinz, Jr., Summer Bianne Hinz, Brandy Rose Forsman, Heather Marie Forsman, Holly Michelle Forsman, Vincent James Iversen, Charles Ned Ledbetter, Nicholas Ledbetter, Jillian Rosemary Easter, Andrew John Easter, Alex Lee Easter, Caden Thomas Frutos, Michael James Frutos, Adelle Kylee Keblis Anderson, Jacob Gregory Keblis. He is survived by many great grandchildren, as well.
Charles has four surviving siblings: Betty Lou Lebetter Skousen (Marvin), Shirley Jean Ledbetter Fee, John Paul Ledbetter (Marilyn), Barbara Ann Ledbetter Randel. Two of Charles’ brothers, William Percy Ledbetter and Robert James Ledbetter passed away in 2009. Charles’s stepchildren are Steven Warren (FL) and Sharon Thrasher (NV.
Charles’ sisters have proven ancestry with many genealogical societies that prove Charles is a descendant of King Henry II and Eleanor d’Aquitaine, as well as of Charlemagne, Emperor of the West. His great-grandmother on his father’s side was a descendant of Major Edward Dale and Lady Diana Skipwith who sailed from England to Jamestown,VA, about 1652.
Charles Ledbetter is a member of the Church of the Latter Day Saints in Phoenix, Arizona. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018. The viewing is at 10:00 a.m. The church is located at 11650 North 35th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85029. Burial will be at 1:45 p.m. at Greenwood/Memory Lawn, 2300 West Van Buren, Phoenix, Arizona 85009.
