I remember picking his delicious veggies and talking to him. He fed many many people, what a Godly man! He made this Earth a better place.

So sad to hear of the passing of "The Tomato Man." During the summer for years as I drove into the Verde Valley my car would automatically veer to the U Pick Tomato Stand on Salt Mine road. Ran into David on many occasions there in the tomato patch. I always enjoyed picking too many tomatoes. What fun. It was such a pleasure that David would share his expertise with the rest of us. I had fresh tomatoes on my table all summer long . He is now plowing new ground for us to follow. Bless him and his family and friends.
Sincerely, Tom Kreuser, tomato picker from Phoenix

David, Dave as I new him. Was such a nice guy, very fair with his vegetable garden. He also had a wounderful sense of humor. Dave was a book of knowledge but also had a line of BS. He loved his boys to the sky and back.
My God Bless you boys and family.

I first met Dave when he introduced me and some of my fellow Master Gardeners to his Mary Miller Heirloom Garlic. He was so nice to us and so patient. He was a genuinely sweet man. I am so sorry, and I send my condolences to his family and friends.

Dave was so wonderful. We enjoyed his garden in Camp Verde and also his stories with my husband about fire fighting. My husband is also a retired fire fighter. We will miss him so much. Our prayers go out to his boys during this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to Dave's family. He always had a smile and a hug for me. We had some really good times and he taught me so much about gardening and growing my own veggies. He was truly 1 of a kind and will be dearly missed. Love ya Dave!

Each time we embrace a memory, we meet again with those we love...for the heart never forgets. Dave was one of the most rock solid men I have ever known. May God bless and comfort his sons, Aaron and Austin, his beloved dog, Chief, his entire family, and all the men and women he touched with his dedication, sense of humor, and heart of gold. A friend taken from life too soon is nothing but tragedy. Dave, my life was blessed through your friendship. You're an Angel and a true Hero.

My sincerest condolences to all of Dave's family and friends.

Dave is a mentor and friend who helped me out when I started my farm. We were across from each other at the Sedona Farmer's Market for 5 years and would shoot the breeze every chance we had. Sweet guy who cares about doing things the right way with heart and faith. You are an ace, Dave.

Dave was a great guy. I always looked forward to seeing him when his tomatoes were ripe and ready for picking. He was a great person and one of the finest tomato farmers that I have ever come across. I will really miss him.
Rest in peace dear friend.
