Dawn Marie Richard

Dawn M. Richard, age 81, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on November 10, 2022, surrounded by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in San Francisco, CA on April 9, 1941. She was married 57 years to the love of her life, Jim Richard.

She had a long career as a Telecommunications System Analyst and was very active in multiple business organizations including a term as President of the Northern California Chapter of Business and Professional Women’s Foundation. Dawn was an active role model for working women and an advocate for women’s rights.

Dawn’s love of travel started later in life, but she embraced it with a passion including starting a travel agency with her husband Jim. She absolutely loved planning and taking trips and cruises with her family and friends. Dawn also enjoyed music, dancing, golfing, snorkeling and dining out with friends and family.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Mary McConnell, her sister, Leah Coleman and her brother, Mark McConnell.

She is survived by her husband Jim Richard, her son Rick Richard and his wife Enid, her daughter Renee Richard and her husband Dennis, three beautiful grandchildren Olivia, Sophie and Abigail, her sister Marilynn Cywan and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29th @ 10:00am at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Hospice of the Valley in memory of Dawn Richard.
