Delbert Ray Patton Sr.

Delbert Ray Patton Sr. was born on June 17, 1950, in Detroit, Texas to Louis Ray Patton and Evelyn Jones (Patton) Carrethers. There were three children born from this union and he was the second child.

Delbert’s mother remarried and they moved to Phoenix, Arizona when he was three years old. He attended Bethune Elementary School and graduated from Phoenix Union High School. During the summer of 1967, he met Shauna Dasher. They fell in love and married on January 11, 1972. They had four wonderful

children: Bridget, Del Jr., Shaunn, and Lisa.

Delbert was a loyal and hard worker. He worked for Southwest Hide Company for 31 years and Bakers Commodities for 11 years. One of his passions was watching and attending basketball games. He loved the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury. Then, there was his hat collection and his MUSIC!

Delbert was preceded in death by his father, Louis Ray Patton; Mother, Evelyn Carrethers; Granddaughter, Olivia Massaquoi, and Son-in-Law, Savalia Von Davis.

He leaves to love and cherish his memory, Wife: Shauna Patton; Daughters: Bridget Davis and Lisa Patton; Sons: Del Patton Jr. and Shaunn Patton; Sisters: Ruth Halton, Linda Franklin, Daisy Carrethers, Lola Ann Carrethers, and Angel Carrethers; Brothers: Reginald Carrethers and Destra Carrethers; Daughter-in-Law: Kandace Watson; nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
