Dora was born on December 6, 1925 in Globe, Arizona to Ramon Quinonez and Ysabel Tarasac. She was later raised in Phoenix by her adopted parents, Ignacio and Francis Cervantez. When they passed, Dora and her brother Raul formed a closer bond that carried with them from their teenage years into adulthood.
When she grew up with only a few family members, Dora aspired to have a large family. She met her future husband and love of her life, Manuel Rios Gomez, in Phoenix. They had five sons Alfred, Robert, Jorge, Fabian and Joseph; and eight daughters Diana, Rosemary, Margaret, Lupe, Stella, Anna, Janet and Lori. They were joined by 31 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
She took great pride in caring for her children and having worked at the county hospital. She was an extraordinary homemaker, not by necessity, but out of her genuine love, kindness and acceptance of anyone who stepped into her home.
Dora is best remembered for growing healthy plants and flower gardens, collecting dolls, singing and dancing with her husband, and her joy of spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her brother and three of her sons, Robert, Jorge and Joseph.
