Dorothy P Henderson

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Dorothy P Henderson, was born on December 10, 1931 in Miami, Arizona. She left this world July 9, 2016. As a teenager in Phoenix, Dorothy enjoyed roller skating which is where she met Emmel, her husband of 65 years and father of her four children. Together they built three roller rinks in Phoenix. Dorothy participated in every stage of construction and operation. Dorothy loved dogs, riding horses, and taking care of her family. She was known for being upbeat, having a quick and easy laugh, and for being a genuinely kind and loving person. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Corrine Peterson; her husband, Emmel; and her sister, Barbara. She is survived by her four children, Carol (Mike) Creech of Phoenix, Arizona, Steve (Lee-Anne) Henderson of Compton, Arkansas, Linda (Kim) Kottmer of Phoenix, Arizona, and John Henderson of Harrison, Arkansas. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. The family will be forever grateful for the excellent care our mother received at Oakmont Assisted Living and Premier Hospice. She was also lucky enough to be surrounded by several loving private caregivers who we will never be able to thank enough. Dorothy’s burial will be at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix. Per her wishes, there will be no public service.
