Faye was born on November 28, 1931, in Peoria, Arizona to Enoch and Izora Weed, and was the second of four children. She graduated from Glendale High School and worked as a telephone switchboard operator and then a bank teller.
She met her late husband, Kenneth, when they both worked at Valley National Bank in Phoenix. They married in 1958.
Ken’s work with government organizations took their family to California, Japan, Virginia, New Mexico, Colorado, and Nevada before the couple returned to Arizona following Ken’s retirement. Faye moved to Prescott after his death in 2013 and lived the past several years with her daughter and son-in-law in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she was active in Greensboro Baptist Church.
Faye was a devoted wife and mother, an avid reader, and a skilled cook known in her extended family for the “Faye Fudge” she made for Christmas gatherings. She loved travel, spending time with her family, and being outdoors.
She is preceded in death by her husband and her brothers, James, Boyd, and Robert. She is survived by her children, Steve, Karen Kurtz (Scott), and Darrell (Debbie).
