Dorothy Jean Thrasher

She was born to Virgil and Edith Stuteville Hull in Big Spring, Texas, on August 31, 1929. She grew up in Amarillo, Texas, where she married Ernest Thrasher, Jr., who passed away on February 6, 2010.

In 1983, Dorothy moved to Phoenix, AZ, to be close to her brother Sammy Kyle Hull. She was an active member of North Phoenix Baptist Church, where she participated in Bible Study weekly, and sang in the choir for many years.

Dorothy had a great sense of humor and a deep faith in Jesus. She read the Bible every day and prayed for her family and friends. In 2018 she moved into Paseo Village assisted living, where she was loved and cared for by the staff and other residents, with whom she enjoyed conversing regularly.

She is survived by her son, Gary Thrasher, and his wife Lucy, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She is also survived by grandchildren Ernest Thrasher IV, Joy Thrasher, Eric Thrasher, Kyle Thrasher, Kia Thrasher, and Alexandra Thrasher, and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Sam Hull, son Ernest Thrasher III, and daughter Darla Thrasher.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
