

86 of Phoenix, passed away on August 31, 2013. Edward Francis ("Ed") Lahaie passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2013. He was born in Gary, Indiana on December 18, 1926. He was an active member of the Marine Corp. in World War ii. In 1950 he married Delores Ronic, and moved to Phoenix, Arizona. He then went to work at Goodyear Aerospace located in Goodyear, Arizona. He retired as a senior planner after thirty years of service. He was one of the founding members of Saints Simon and Jude Church. He was active in all areas including President of the Men's Club, President of the School Board, Chairman of the Fall Festival, worked Friday Night Bingo, and much more. He enjoyed singing, and sang with all of his children and grandchildren constantly. He was an avid reader and read the newspaper cover to cover daily. Camping and fishing were among the hobbies he did on his own and with his children. Working outside in his yard and cars were things he took great pride in and enjoyed, as well as watching the Chicago Cubs growing up, and more recently, the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ed is survived by his wife of 63 years, Delores Lahaie. He is survived by his four children, eight grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. His children and their spouses: Joan Lahaie-Beren (Rick Beren), Larry Lahaie (Sandy), Patrick Lahaie (Gina), and Barbara Lahaie Jones. His grandchildren are: Richard Lahaie, Stephanie Lahaie, Patrick Lahaie, Brandon Jones, Daniel Jones, Amber Beren, Aimee Beren, and Brandon Beren. He was one of nine children born to Emil and Clara Lahaie with the only surviving sibling being Jeannette Maas of Crown Point, Indiana. Visitation will be from 8:30 AM to 9:30 A.M., on Thursday, 9/5/13 at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W Bethany Home Rd, Phoenix, AZ. Service will follow at 10:00 AM at Sts. Simon & Jude Cathedral, 6351 N. 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ. Burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetary 6450 West Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301. Arrangements by A. L.
