She was born February 8, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Leopold and Hulda Boelke. Eleanor moved to Arizona with her husband and son in the 1950s.
She retired from Sperry after 25 years.
Eleanor was a master crafter and has won several local awards. Highlights include doll making, sewing, quilts, and was most known for her beautiful needlepoint. Eleanor loved the holidays, gardening, and reading.
Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law Shirley Bates, granddaughter Terri Sutton, and great-granddaughters Nicole and Alexis.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Lloyd, only child Bob Bates, grandson Jeff, brother Robert Boelke, and sister Ruth Bradford.
A visitation funeral service in memory of Eleanor will be held on August 20th, 2018 at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary from 11am – 12pm with a graveside service to follow.
