Elvira Francis

Elvie was 73 years old and, unfortunately, her body was not as strong as her amazing spirit.

Elvie was born on January 25, 1950 to Maria and Valeriano Diaz in Capiz, Philippines. Elvie was gifted with a passion to help others, so she traveled with cousins to attend nursing school in Oxford England, where she met the love of her life, Manny Francis. They were married on October 29, 1973.

Elvie was amazing at everything she did, which included cooking, gardening, and sewing, however, her devotion was sharing her love to her family and friends. Elvie was known for her brilliant smile and matching personality, which was so warming for all in her presence. Not only was she the glue to her family, but she was an amazing leader at Honeywell, where she worked as a Workflow Coach for over 20 years. In her retirement chapter of life, Elvie and Manny took great pleasure in their many travels on cruises to Alaska, Mexico, Panama Canal, as well as their favorite resort spots in Palm Springs, Las Vegas and Sedona.

Elvie's infamously stunning smile will forever be remembered. She cherished life and love and had the ability to pass that love to the many, many people she reached around the world. When you look at her beautiful face and beaming smile, you know that she IS love and that she gave so much love. Elvie will be forever missed.

Elvie is survived by her loving husband Manny Francis, her daughter Elaine, her sons Kevin, Raymond, and Brian and her eleven grandchildren: Elysia Mamola, Joseph Mamola, Joshua Mamola, Chris Francis, Ryan Francis, Jay Singer, Shaunice Vo, Troy Francis, Nathan Francis, Maisara Francis, Rasheed Francis along with many cousins and other extended family and many caring friends.

Elvie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Maria and Valeriano Diaz, and her granddaughter Mahira Francis.

A visitation for Elvie will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, then lunch reception to follow at the Francis Family Home.
