In 1969, Emmanuel married Olga Warda, with whom he had three children: Kathy married to Rudy Paniagua, Yasmin married to Joshua Seman, and Marc married to Rachelle Jervis. He is grandfather to Dominic Seman, Naylani Seman, and Constance Mar-Yohana. He is brother to the late Melida Babakhan, the late George Isaac, Sandra Baba, Fahima Aywaz, Juliet Shabo, Sargon Isaac, and Violet Hermiz.
Emmanuel’s first career was for an oil production company in Iraq. After immigrating to the United States in 1963, Emmanuel worked as an electrician for several industrial companies in Illinois. After moving to Arizona in 1998, Emmanuel avoided retirement by working as an electrician and later purchased a restaurant.
Emmanuel is most known for his jovial nature and his love of children. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed an occasional visit to casinos and playing cards with his children, nephews, and nieces. Ammo was loved by many and always had a warming smile.
Emmanuel, also known as Ammo in the Assyrian community, was a very active member in the church. He loved to play Santa Claus for the Sunday school students in the early 70’s and 80’s. Ammo was always a front row fixture at Mar Sargis Church in Chicago.
Emmanuel was a brother and friend to all and will be missed deeply. Our hearts are heavy with sorrow. We will miss you so much Baba.
