Esther Castaneda Cortinas

Esther C. Cortinas 85. Passed away on 10/14/2023. She was the widow of Ralph Cortinas. They shared 54 years of marriage together. She was born in San Antonio, TX. Her mother Aurelia Castañeda Perez remarried Luciano Perez.

Esther graduated Tech Vocational High School and studied secretarial studies. Later, after she married Ralph, they both moved to Los Angeles, CA. and spent 39 years there working and raising a family. She worked for Ralph’s Grocery Co. for about 20 years and then went to work for the state of California as a secretary. After Ralph and Esther retired, they moved to Gilbert, AZ. Where they could be close to their daughter Corrine, son in law Kevin and their two granddaughters Holly & Hayley Steck.

Esther was an active part of her church and served as part of the “Clean Team”. She loved the Lord, was an avid reader and loved to read the Bible. She loved her team the Arizona Diamond Backs as well as the Phoenix Suns. She knew the Players. But more than that, she loved her family very much. She also loved keeping in touch with her friends & family from San Antonia & California.
