Frances Elizabeth (Mayr) Gay, 87 of Phoenix, went to Heaven on May 26, 2012 and Heaven gained another angel that day. As we write this obituary we still cannot believe she is gone. Frances was an incredible wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She was absolutely amazing....Amazing Mom how sweet the sound. As a teenager Frances worked the assembly lines during World War II. My memory escapes me as my brother Charlie and sister Shelley and I had not quite arrived. As I do recall and know she always wanted the best for her three children and then later her larger loving family. Frances was adamant about all of us getting a college education. As a young woman, with three children on her own, she worked as an AJ Bayless bookeeper and also went back to school at Arizona State University full time to complete her education.
Ever determined she completed her BA and Masters in Education with top honors. She spent many wonderful years as a Language Arts consultant and a principal in the Washington School District.
Most importantly she was an incredible woman with the deepest and most unwavering faith in God. We will all cherish so many wonderful memories of her. She will be remembered as a prayer warrior, her deepest love and committment to her Lord, and her undying love for her family and friends. Mom Frances will always be our rock, determined, strong, and always believing in herself and us. We will miss her deeply and for always. We will carry her torch of faith, determination, and love of God and our family, for the rest of our lives. Frances Elizabeth Mayr Gay born 12/12/24 is survived by her husband Warren A. Gay (Bud) her daughter Sandra Lee Keefer, her son Charles David Dains, her daughter Shelley Diane Dains, and her daughter by love, June Dains, her grand daughter Michelle Reaux, and grandson by love, Adrian Reaux, her grandson Charlie Dains, her great grandchildren Morgan Rae Dains, Charlie Richard Dains, Lily June Reaux, and a new great grand baby due to arrive this Friday!
