Frieda Renter

Frieda “Fritz” (Dreith) Renter passed away on February 15, 2024, at the age of 87, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on November 6, 1936, to George and Katherine (Herter) Dreith. Fritz had a distinguished career with the Arizona Department of Public Safety holding various positions and accolades including Assistant Treasurer, AHPA Civilian Board Member, Arizona Highway Patrolman magazine editor, and member of the DPS Officer Monument Committee.

Fritz lived a life full of love and laughter and will be missed by many. Spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her the most joy in life.

Fritz is survived by her sister: Elsie Gettman; her children: Cheryl Jordan-Herr (Randy), Sherry Renter, Shannon Burke (Tommie), and Kenny Renter (Paige); her grandchildren: Michelle Jordan, Corinne Shubair (Ahmed), Tiffany DeSanti, Troy DeSanti, Brittany Jarvis, Jordan Hughes, Justin Hughes, and Madison Hughes; and her great-grandchildren: Blake Shubair, Reagan Shubair, Felicity Avianna Marcha DeSanti, Kaine Burke, Mason Graco, and Madalyn Jarvis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Eddie, John, Harry, and Bobbie Dreith and her sister Helen Bird.

A visitation for Frieda will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at

Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary located at 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027. Her funeral service will take place from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm with a graveside service to follow at Phoenix Memorial Park from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
