  Have you ever heard of such a thing?
   
        Do you remember the first time, Getting one over on Jerry? Did you ever get one over on Jerry? hahaha Us Crowe's had to learn eary, no choice, weve been neighbors for 49 years, and still counting. It happened about 20 years ago Deb and I came to my Mom and Dads for Sunday lunch and Betty and Jerry were there to. We were all about done and my daughter about 3 asked Grandma for a cupcake and my Mom said.{ Heather you have to wait until Uncle Jerry is done} Heather looked at Jerry's plate and it was half full. Heather looked up  at Jerry and said { Jawee Wussell USE A PIG } there wasn't a dry eye in the house. I still get a good laugh after all these years.

As a 2yr old,  I received the most wonderful dolly for my birthday from my grandma and grandpa from Idaho.  Grandma had even made clothes for the dolly.  I was very eager to show my new dolly to Uncle Jerry and Aunt Betty.  Uncle Jerry asked if I had a name for her yet and of course I had not so he named her for me....  That is the last time I took an unnamed baby doll to Uncle Jerry's house.   Her new name was Murgertoid!!! yuck.  Thanks Jerry......

Every year we would spend 2 weeks on the Oregon coast and every day for the 2 weeks Jerry would make pancakes.  He would make enough to feed an army and hopefully have some left over.  With those left overs he would go outside and hand feed the cutiest raccoons.  One afternoon a bunch of us were going shopping in Lincoln City.  We found footprints on the hood of mom and dads Chrysler 5th Avenue, followed those footprints to the top of the car and found those cute little raccoons had eaten a few wholes in the rag top. Needless to say dad does not like raccoons and pancakes anymore.

The neighbor that wouldn't go home.                   

 Our families meet when my mom had me. All the Russell girls begged Betty, Mom you have to go buy an outfit for for our new neighbors, they just had a baby boy. The girls wouldn't quit,so Betty went and bought an outfit for the new Crowe baby. That was 49 years ago and they have been the best of freinds ever since.  
 I will never forget the day I went to Betty and Jerry's house soo many years ago, I knocked on the door ( probably because I smelled Betty's awesome cooking ) and Jerry answered the door. I heard Betty in the back ground hollering ( Jerry who is it ) Jerry said ( it's the neighbor kid ) Betty replyed, (which one) , ( the one that wont go home) Jerry said. So thats who I am Jim the neighbor kid that would never go home. We will miss you so very much,the hunting and camping trips we spent together will always stay with me until we meet again in that happy hunting ground, love you lots.

Mr Russell was a great family friend, my best friend's father and a man who knew how to make people laugh. I cherish my memories of the many hunting trips our families shared and will miss Jerry very much.
