

Grace Carolyn Killgore, 101, of Phoenix, went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2013. She was born on February 28, 1912, one of nine children. Grace graduated from Gracemont High School and attended business school in Chickashaw, Oklahoma.
Grace was married to R.M. (Bill) Killgore on December 24, 1936 and was happily married for 46 years. She was President of Arizona Typographers after her husband’s death in 1983. Grace had a vitally important job during World War II at the Port of Embarkation in San Diego. Grace also worked in quality control at Motorola and was a counselor at Family Debt Counselors. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and enjoyed working with five-year-olds in Sunday school, while working in the church library for many years. She was a Girl Scout troop leader as well. Grace had a passion for gardening, sewing, singing, and various arts and crafts.
Grace is survived by her daughter, Karen Killgore and son-in-law, Michael Gillihan, of Phoenix; her brother, James Dwight Newnum (Della), of Prescott Valley; and many nieces, nephews and their children, who loved her dearly. She will be missed greatly by family, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9th, 2013, at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., October 10, 2013, at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary. A Reception will be immediately following the service. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. on October 10, 2013 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
