Harry Christian Jasperson was the third of five children born to Danish immigrants Jens and Tina Jasperson. He was born in Sycamore, Oregon, February 4, 1920. The family homesteaded 160 acres of land in Clearwater County, Minnesota. Times were difficult as this was the early years of the Great Depression. The family worked hard to clear the land, plant crops, and build a home. Harry completed the eighth grade in a one-room rural school and received his diploma. Harry earned pocket change by playing his violin at local barn dances. He met and fell in love with Marion Dietel and they were married on June 12, 1941. Harry was drafted in 1943 and served aboard the USS Pennsylvania. After the war, Harry and family moved to Thief River Falls where he worked for the city as a power plant operator. Retiring in 1983, Harry and Marion moved to Phoenix to enjoy life in the sun. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marion, infant daughter Linda; brothers Art, Ernest, Clarence and sister Esther. Harry is survived by two sons Gerald
(Edna) and Duane (Darlene) and 4 grandchildren Kevin, Larry, Jeff, and Kim along with their families, numerous relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christian Care Center, 11812 N 19th Ave, Phx, AZ, in Harry's memory.
