

age 82, passed away on March 23, 2013 with his wife Rosemarie (Romy) , by his side, tired of valiantly battling Parkinson’s Disease for many years. He was born to Chet and Chi Solomonson on May 28, 1930 in Springfield, Illinois. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, children Linda Bear (Bruce), and Sandra Ammerlaan (Nieck), five grandchildren, Christy, Lisa, Paul, Sophie, and Margot, as well as his sister Dolores, four nieces and one nephew.
He served honorably during the Korean Conflict and upon release from the military, entered the University of Illinois, graduating with a BS in Accountancy. His professional life was spent as an accountant in Atlanta, Chicago, and from 1971to his retirement in Phoenix, AZ where he worked for the Greyhound Corporation as a corporate accountant.
He enjoyed golf, a proud moment being his Hole-in-one at Encanto Park golf course, camping, and traveling. He cherished being involved in VASA, DANK, The Austrian Society of AZ, the Elks (having been an Elk for over 50 years), and his every -other- month luncheons with the Greyhound Retiree Club. Most of all he treasured his European trips, and would entertain you with his adventures encountered while motoring the Autobahn.
He will be greatly missed by all who liked his ready smile and always willing spirit to help. There will be a Celebration of his Life on Memorial Day 2013 at the home of daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bruce Bear. Further details will be sent out closer to the date.
