Helen C. Canty, 95, of Phoenix, AZ, went to be with her beloved husband James Canty on March 4, 2011. She was born in New Orleans, LA on November 15, 1915. Helen moved to Chicago with her family at an early age. She retired from Standard Oil after 20 years of service. Helen moved to Phoenix where she resided for the past 30 years. She devoted much of her time to volunteering atthe Jewish Thrift Store, attending Phoenix College and spending time with her friends. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church for many years. Helen was a gracious and caring woman until the very end. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by a host of family and friends. Services will be held in Chicago at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be much appreciated.
