Helen Louise Helm

Helen Louise Helm, 90, was called to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 17th 2012 in San Diego, CA. Beloved wife, mother grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Helen was a native of Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Grace Lutheran Elementary School in Glendale and Glendale High School, graduating in 1940. She then went on to attend Phoenix College and Arizona School of Commerce. She was a charter member of the Glendale and Peoria Woman's Clubs, active as a member of Grace Lutheran Church, a member of the Phoenix Garden Club and a volunteer for Hospice of the Valley. Helen was an avid lover of music and enjoyed sharing that love with others. She played several musical instruments including the harmonica, accordion, piano and organ. Known as "Honey" to her children and grandchildren, her zest for life and laughter will live on through her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 70 years Zachariah "Jack" Helm; her children Jackie (Glen) Clark, Anthony (Liz) Helm, Gary (Sharon) Helm, 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, July 27th 2012 from 4-7 pm at Resthaven Park Funeral Home 6450 W. Northern Ave. Services will be held Saturday, July 28th 2012 at 9 am at Life in Christ Lutheran Church 14802 N. 75th Ave. Peoria, AZ 85381. Interment to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to Life in Christ Lutheran Church.
