After serving in the U.S. Army, Hank studied art at the Philadelphia Museum School of Art. In 1957, Hank moved to Phoenix with his wife, Beverly, where they raised their family and started his art career. He worked as a creative art director in advertising and later had his own agency representing many prominent financial and business clients. Hank then went on to have a successful career as a fine art artist in painting and sculpture, winning many awards for his work. He is included in Who’s Who in Western Art & in American Art and Bronzes of the American West. He was proud to have his work exhibited in many local and national museums and individual art collections.
Hank enjoyed teaching others how to sculpt and draw at Principia College and at local events. He authored and illustrated several children’s books, won the Gold Medal for Art Direction at the Atlanta Film Festival and the C.I.N.E. Eagle for a documentary film, “A Child’s Eyes-November 22, 1963” and designed the “Bobby Riggs – Chauvinist Pig” medallion for the famous Riggs vs. Billie Jean King Tennis Match in Houston’s Astrodome.
He was active in his church, enjoyed telling jokes, stories and making napkin drawings for kids of all ages. His family was the pride of his life, and he will be missed by all.
