

Jack Allen Pierce, 78, passed away on May 27, 2014 in Glendale, Arizona. Jack was born on October 10, 1935 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Vera and Wade Pierce, who preceded him in death. He is survived by: Elleen Pierce, wife; Lorraine Henry, daughter; Donna Pierce, sister from Atlanta, Georgia; Richard Pierce, brother from Reno, Nevada; Linda Mosley, cousin, Sierra Vista, AZ; Granddaughter's Gabriella Haugen and Jessica Henry. Jack was a man of courage; honor and fortitude. He contracted Polio as a teenager, recovered and completed medical school despite multiple interruptions related to polio complications. He Interned, completed his residency in PM&R, Spinal Cord Injury Specialty and practiced at then Good Samaritan Hospital (now Banner Samaritan) Rehabilitation Center. Secondary to Post -Polio issues he retired earlier than he would have preferred. He was a positive and cheerful person and had great sense of humor. He had learned to be content in all his circumstances. Our family will miss him dearly until we meet again. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N 27th Ave in Phoenix. Visitation at 9:00am with funeral service at 10:00am.
