James "Jim" Lee Brooke, beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on February 12, 1953, Jim grew up in Seattle, Washington, and was a proud graduate of Queen Anne High School, Class of 1971.
Following high school, Jim honorably served in the United States Navy, stationed in Guam. His service was a source of pride, and in recognition of his commitment to his country, his ashes will be interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of Phoenix for Veterans.
Jim was an avid sports fan, always keeping up with the latest news on his beloved Seattle teams. He had an incredible knowledge of the sports world and loved discussing games, players, and stats with anyone who shared his passion.
More than anything, Jim will be remembered for his cheerful and loving nature. He had a genuine interest in the lives of his extended family and always made sure to check in on those he cared about. His love for his siblings was deep and unwavering, and his kindness and warmth will be dearly missed.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Robert Brooke, his mother, Helene H. Brooke, his brother Don Brooke, and his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Brooke and Dana Brooke.
He is survived by his siblings: Robert & Sue Brooke, David Brooke, Gina Brooke & Darcy Marcell, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will always cherish his memory.
Jim's final wish was to be cremated, and his family has chosen to honor his Navy service by placing his ashes in a columbarium at the National Memorial Cemetery of Phoenix. When family gathers in Phoenix for the upcoming wedding, they will have the opportunity to visit the cemetery and pay their respects to a man who gave so much love and loyalty to those around him.
Jim's spirit, laughter, and caring heart will live on in the memories of all who knew him. He will be missed but never forgotten.
