James "Jim" Albert Robinson II, age 63, entered into heaven unexpectedly on August 4, 2025, in his home. James was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to James Albert Robinson and Florence Holmes, their beloved and only child.
James grew up in Collingsdale, Pennsylvania, where he graduated high school. After graduation, he began working for the local school as a janitor, a role that showed his strong work ethic and dedication. Soon after, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he became a communications expert. His time in the service shaped much of who he was—disciplined, reliable, and deeply committed.
After returning home, James chose a career that reflected his caring nature and his desire to help others. He became an EMT and worked alongside the fire department, responding to emergencies and serving the community in times of greatest need. Later, he continued his career with a local TV cable company, where he installed and maintained television equipment. His work ethic, dependability, and skill left a lasting impression everywhere he worked.
James married and was blessed with one daughter, Brittany, who was the joy of his life. In 1994, he relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where he joined his family and began building a new chapter. Shortly after his arrival, James met Carmen, who became his second wife. They were married in the Phoenix courthouse, beginning a union filled with love and companionship. Their marriage lasted until Carmen’s passing on July 9, 2025, less than a month before James joined her in heaven.
Though James’s biological mother passed when he was young, his father remarried in August of 1971. At that time, James welcomed a brother and a sister into the family: John, 10 years his junior, and Julie, 13 years his junior. Following a tradition from Great Britain, all three children shared the same initials, J-A-R. That Christmas, James gave his stepmother the cherished gift of calling her “Mother,” a name that spoke to his loving heart and ability to form deep bonds of family.
Jim was an outstanding son. He called his mother every week and faithfully visited her every other Saturday, spending the day by her side and making sure she was well. He loved helping others and was always willing to lend a hand. Jim had a big, generous heart and lived his life with kindness, care, and compassion for everyone around him. He also loved working with his hands, building model boats, and testing his skills at the shooting range.
James is survived by his mother and her husband, Chet; his daughter, Brittany; his siblings, John and Julie Robinson; and his grandchild, Giovanna, affectionately called Gigi. He was greeted in heaven by his biological mother and father.
James will be placed at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Friday, September 19, 2025.
