

Born April 16, 1933 age 91 passed away on January 1, 2025 in Scottsdale AZ.
Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Desler Wondra, brothers, William Wondra, John Wondra, grandson Matthew Engst, and and his first wife Marilyn.
He was survived by children Paul (Heidi) Wondra, Steve (Lorrie) Wondra, Kathy (Greg) Engst, Karen (Bob) Pereyra, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews,
Jim grew up in St. Paul Mn graduated from Central high school. He was a valuable and respected West St. Paul police officer for 36 years and to many, he was known as Sarge. Upon his retirement, the city of West St. Paul declared it Jim Wondra day and gave him the key to the city. Jim’s love of playing the organ and piano led to founding Wondra’s Pianos and Organs, a family business with his two brothers located on Larpenter and Snelling in St. Paul Mn. Jim loved to dance any chance he got. He spent many years boating on the St. Croix river and was a member of the St. Croix Yacht Club. He was also an avid Vikings fan and season ticket holder. Family was very important to Jim and he relocated to Arizona to be closer to his sons.
The funeral service is January 11th at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church located at 36811 N Pima Rd, Carefree, AZ 85377. A celebration of life will be held at the St. Croix Yacht Club in MN on May 10th.
