Jane Reinhold Lynch, was born to Fredric and Katherine Reinhold on 22 September 1938. She and her older brother Fredric grew up in Lombard IL. Her family moved to Chetek WI after her high school graduation where she started dating Brian E. Lynch, her future husband, and father to her children: Whitney, Robert and Amy. Brian transferred from University of Wisconsin Madison to the UW Eau Claire to join Jane where she was enrolled and they were engaged that Christmas Eve. Mum and Dad were married June 14th, 1958 and they continued their college education at UW Eau Claire. Brian enrolled at Thunderbird International School of Global Management in Glendale AZ. That first January in AZ in 1962, Whitney was born. Mum’s father passed away that same year; she was heartbroken he would not get to see her children grow up. Robert came three years later and then in two more years Amy.
Jane loved family life and gave generously of her time. She participated in PTA, Cub Scouts, Webelos, Sunday School, Church Choir and Brownies. We took family trips to Chetek WI to visit family and her brother and sister-in-law would come up to Chetek also. We had family in AZ but spent most vacations in Chetek WI. As we children started growing up, we lost Mum’s mother and these family trips to Chetek took on more importance and we went more often. Mum became the Secretary/ Treasurer for the Boy Scout Troop and was still the leader for Girl Scouts and a Sunday School teacher. She decided to register for college classes to get that Nursing Degree she always wanted and Dad treated Mum to a trip when he retired. A few days in London England, many Christian sights in Israel followed by a few days in Paris on the way home.
We children began to graduate colleges and get married as Mum and Dad began spending summers in Chetek, WI and winters in Glendale, AZ. In 1991, Dad and Mum got to spend three weeks in London with Amy and her ex-husband who was stationed there. We spent time sightseeing, a week in Scotland before they headed home. A grandchild was born to Whitney, and Mum and Dad wanted to spend time with them, so visiting family on their way to and from Chetek WI was very important. In 2008 Mum and Dad spent their 50th wedding anniversary at the cottage in Chetek where they had honeymooned.
When the time came to slow down, they stopped traveling to Chetek WI while still traveling to see their grandchildren in AZ: three in Roberts family in Prescott and three in Whitney's family in Tucson. Then the shock of all shocks in 2015 Dad passed away and we kids rallied to keep Mum going. Jane spent almost two years living with Whitney’s family before connecting with Bob and moving to Prescott AZ to live.
Bob and Jane had quite an adventure in Prescott AZ until Mum began dialysis in 2020. Bob took care of Mum and their homestead until regrettably they both fell and Jane now need assisted living while Bob needed surgery and months of intensive therapy and care. Unfortunately, Bob did not make it through recovery. Mum had lots of friends and family that cared for her and a great living arrangement at Granite Gate. She could live as independently as possible. After over 5 years of dialysis, she couldn’t take it any longer. But she was tired and she wanted to go home. She made her decision, talked to us kids, and we honored her requests. She stopped dialysis and entered into Hospice Care. One week later, holding the lovely hospice nurses’ hand she returned to her maker knowing she was loved, cherished and supported.
Jane is survived by Whitney, Robert and Amy: their loving spouses Karen, Debbie and Brian. Grandchildren: Danielle, Bethany, Hannah, Hailey, Asher and Aaron, and three grand sons-in-law Paul, Brandon and Ben. Great grandchildren Micah, Malachi and “Judah (who is already with the Lord).”
