Jane Marie Powers passed away on August 16, 2021, in Phoenix, Arizona following a major cardiac event. She was surrounded by family, a dedicated medical team, and the thoughts and support of many friends. Jane was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on November 20, 1961, the youngest child of Thomas and Jane Powers. She grew up in Millbrook, New York and was a proud graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School.
Following a move to Phoenix in 1990, she enjoyed a successful 30-year career in business support and marketing with the American Express Travel Related Services Company. Jane also worked part-time as a beverage and food services hostess for the Arizona Diamondbacks fans where her “section” always looked forward to her smile and upbeat personality throughout the game and season. Jane was respected by her co-workers in both organizations which led to lifelong friendships.
As her cardiac issues developed, she actively promoted the mission and programs offered by the American Heart Association. All were inspired by her determination, encouragement, humor, and trust in God. While her heart could not keep up with her, it was the biggest part of who she was.
Jane is survived by her brother Jim (Nancy), Tom (Teresa), and John. She was predeceased by her sisters Susan and Pamela. Jane was especially proud of all of her nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are being planned in both Phoenix and New York in the near future for family and friends.
For those considering a memorial gift, Jane requested to please direct your donation to either the American Heart Association or the Organ Donor Network of Arizona.
May she always be remembered in our best thoughts.
