Jenny Lin Quong passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born in Hong Kong and came to America after marrying Earl Quong, a Chinese American from California. She lived on a 60-acre orchard in Loomis, north of Sacramento, and retailed peaches and Kelsey green plums. Jenny also worked for Del Monte Cannery, Fabric’s West and JC Penney.
1973 was a turning point for Jenny, when she moved to Gilbert, Arizona, to help her sister-in-law, Mae Ong, at Liberty Market. People came to the market not just for groceries, but it was a gathering place for neighbors. She later worked at Fry’s Food Stores, retiring in 2009.
Jenny was a devoted mother to her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joseph. She is survived by her children, Jeanette Ong (Marshall) and Jennifer Chung (Lester); grandchildren, Jaclyn Chung, Jami Chung and Mark Ong; sister-in-law, Bess; and many nieces and nephews, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 9:00 AM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary Chapel (719 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85009). A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service and burial will be held at 11:15 AM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery (2300 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix, AZ 85009).
